Company History

Shiv Nadar founded it, and when HCL ventured into the software services industry in 1991, it was separated out. Its main office is in Noida, India. In 1976, Shiv Nadar and eight other engineers established a company to manufacture personal computers. In order to raise money for their primary product, Nadar and his team began selling teledigital calculators when they first floated as Microcomp Limited. On August 11, 1976, the company was renamed Hindustan Computers Limited (HCL). In 1978, HCL Enterprise created a domestic microcomputer, and in 1983, it created a client-server architecture, networking operating system, and RDBMS. Initially, HCL Technologies was the research and development division of HCL Enterprise.
